Welcome

Welcome to The X-Men Effect, a blog dedicated to exploring the impact and influence that Marvel Comics's X-Men franchise has had on comics and popular culture. I am a life-long fan of the X-Men comics (though now a more casual fan of its twenty-first century incarnations) and related media and, as a comics scholar, have created this blog as a means of cataloging the various effects that the X-Men franchise has had on our world and the worlds of fiction. I am also organizing a session (or, with your help, a series of sessions) for the Comics Art & Comics Area of the national Popular Culture Association, which meets next year (2012) in Boston, Massachusetts, and hope to turn those papers into a book collection. Further details on both projects will be forthcoming.
