Marvel.com has recently announced the launch of an X-Men anime series to air on the cable network G4, which is also the home to anime versions of Wolverine and Iron Man. The new series will debut on 21 October 2011. The trailer from G4 is appended below.

Welcome
Welcome to The X-Men Effect, a blog dedicated to exploring the impact and influence that Marvel Comics's X-Men franchise has had on comics and popular culture. I am a life-long fan of the X-Men comics (though now a more casual fan of its twenty-first century incarnations) and related media and, as a comics scholar, have created this blog as a means of cataloging the various effects that the X-Men franchise has had on our world and the worlds of fiction. I am also organizing a session (or, with your help, a series of sessions) for the Comics Art & Comics Area of the national Popular Culture Association, which meets next year (2012) in Boston, Massachusetts, and hope to turn those papers into a book collection.
